True Happiness

by Christy Trujillo on February 12, 2016

Like many other couples, Roy and Connie Hernandez met at work. They were both teachers and quickly bonded over their love for their profession. They have spent forty years in education, in one form or another. Currently, they work as Speech Language Pathologists traveling in an RV throughout the great state of New Mexico. Speech on wheels, as they call it. They also happen to be two of the happiest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking with.

Soliant travelers Roy and Connie Hernandez

As a married gal myself, I was immediately intrigued by the story of these two travelers. Married folks? In confined spaces? Happy? But when I asked them to describe the impact traveling has had on their relationship, Roy replied with exuberance,

“Oh, it’s been an extremely positive experience. We are able to share so much – conversing about our day and picking each other’s brains. We have so much in common and so much to talk about!

“This is extremely rewarding, Roy added. “Once while working in Bloomfield, one of the children with down syndrome refused to start her day until she gave Mr. Roy a hug. Those things stick with you, in your heart, and make everything worthwhile.”

And then it hit me. Not only are these two crazy kids in love, but they are in love with their life. What a concept, right? To be in love with your life. Love comes in many different forms, but Roy and Connie taught me that to find true happiness you must first love yourself, you must first be in love with your life.

How is this done?

We’re going to begin with some good old fashioned honesty, and I mean being honest with yourself so it’s going to be a little harder than you think. Are you where you wanted to be in life? Are you doing what you wanted to do? Do you wake up every day excited to get on with the business of living? If you can’t answer yes to these questions, perhaps it’s time for a change.

The work we do is a huge part of who we are and the number one contributing factor to one’s overall satisfaction with their life. Did you know that the average person will spend 90,000 hours at work during their lifetime? That’s a lot of hours to settle for something because it’s good enough. We’re not talking about being good here. We’re talking about being great! We’re talking about being in love!

Here at Soliant, we are 100% committed to helping you fall in love with your life. We make life better for those who make lives better. It’s not just something we say, it’s the foundation on which we’ve built our organization and our promise to you. As a member of our team, you’ll have a designated account manager who will help you every step of the way and make sure that you never have to settle for anything less than perfect when it comes to your career.

Like Roy and Connie, everyone deserves their own personal love story. Let us help you fall in love with life and maybe, if we’re lucky, you’ll fall in love with us just a little bit too.

So, will you be our Valentine?
